We, I didn’t have much luck with my predictions for the latter stages of the RWC. England and France disposed of Australia and New Zealand (the top two seeds) respectively, Argentina sent Scotland home, and Only South Africa made it through to the Semi-Finals from my expected list. It did, however, guarantee a North/South final, with France and England contesting one semi-final (a terrible match for a Scotsman!) and Argentina and South Africa the other. From the Semi-finals England and South Africa have progressed to the final. The two teams met in the group stages where South Africa not only won, but kept a clean sheet against England, 36-0. That result would suggest that they should take the final comfortably, but then, this RWC has been full of upsets! I’d still back the SpringBoks to win though, if only from the point of view that if England become the first team to successfully defend the Webb Ellis Cup we’ll never hear the end of it! 😛
