The first week on the boat for this trip has now been and gone. I had flown down to New Orleans, overnighted in a hotel then a helicopter out to the ship. We have been installing ubmilicals for a new field in the Gulf of Mexico and now we are back in port (Mobile, Alabama) to take on more umbilicals. There was a crew change a couple of days ago so there are some new faces (and new newspapers!) onboard. Usually that would happen half way through our trip, but with three weeks still to go it seems like a long way away before we get off!
